It's like seeing the drawing each day after I propped it up on my desk helped the ideas and wisdom take root and and begin to grow new understanding over time. I feel so fortunate that I have a spiritual director who is not only present with me for that hour of spiritual direction but he takes the time to create this little icon of sorts that I can use to meditate and reflect upon however I choose afterward. WHAT IS SPIRITUAL DIRECTION?
No matter what you may be going through, what questions you are pondering, or what emotions you are experiencing spiritual direction may be what you’re needing. What is spiritual direction? It’s a time to explore who you are, or what you’re experiencing, or questions you have. As a spiritual director I mostly ask questions and listen. I try not to give advice but mainly help you pay attention to the deep wisdom already within you. This is done with great amounts of compassion and no judgement. I received my spiritual direction training from the Hesychia School of Spiritual Direction in Tucson Arizona where the focus was on compassionate and nonjudgemental direction. All are welcome no matter your background, your sexual orientation, political views, if you are religious or non-religious, etc. Spiritual Direction helps us pay attention to and welcome the deep stirrings within our heart, body, and mind.
